This collage is made with objects found whilst mudlarking along the Thames foreshore. The various pieces of metal, beads and miscellaneous finds are glued to board, painted with acrylic paint. The centrepiece is a pewter torso with an arm outstretched. A woman emerges from the Thames with a skirt made with shrapnel, metal, lead soldiers, buttons & other pieces of metal many of which associated with the wartime history of London. She throws a shower of sparkling beads towards the moon. The diversity of objects found in the River Thames never ceases to amaze me, each one with its own secret story that we can only guess it. The River harbours both broken and happy dreams - endings and beginnings. "Dark Secrets - Beautiful Dreams".
It measures 89cm high and 56 cm width and is set in a handmade deep white wooden frame.
